Daniel Hayden Hicks (Danny), age 60, of Hanover Twp, Ohio, took his final flight from this life on Friday, December 23, 2016 as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born November 21, 1956, in Hamilton Ohio the son of Luther and Mary Hicks, and was a lifelong resident of Hanover Twp.
He attended Talawanda schools in Oxford, Ohio and graduated from Talawanda High School in 1975.
He was a Union Carpenter working in the Greater Cincinnati area for 30 years until his retirement.
After retiring, he worked with his family at the family business, Hicks Golden Years Nursing Home in Monticello, Ky. up until the time of his death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 40 years, Marlene, the love of his life; his son—Hayden, who he considered the best gift he could have received in this earthly life, along with daughter-in-law—Anne (Fontaine), the daughter God sent him; and precious grandchildren that made his life here complete—Ryder, Max, Audrey, and Addie.
He is also survived by brothers—Donnie (Jewell) and Darrell (Rhonda); and sister—Debbie (James) Tucker; brothers-in-law—Dale Pence (Margie) and Gary Sergent (Virginia) along with very special nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
He was known for his fast wit, comic artwork, never-ending jokes, and broad smile.
His humor will be part of the memories that we will always hold dear.
He was an expert on Civil War history and loved traveling to Savannah and Charleston SC for self- guided history tours.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Greg Jackson officiating.
