Darwin Edward Keeton
Darwin Edward Keeton, age 70, formerly of Monticello, Ky. passed
away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his home in Spring Hill, Fla. He
was preceded in death by his wife-Elizabeth Gaye (Piercy) Keeton; his parents-Clarence Edward and Zula (Norfleet) Keeton; one nephew-Timothy Joe Krick; paternal grandparents-Joeseph and Lucy (Frost) Keeton; maternal grandparents-Carlisle and Ina Geneva (Hughes) Norfleet.
He is survived by two daughters-Robin Heugel (Ron), of Spring Hill, Fla., and Jordan Dee Kennedy (Shawn) of Augusta, Ga.; two grandsons-Sage Heugel and Wesley Trunxs Kennedy; one sister-Dianna Sue Krick (Joe) of Simpsonville, S.C.; one brother-David Aaron Keeton of
Monticello, Ky.; three nieces-Tammy Ann Brogdon, Tina Karen Hudgins and Kristy Brooke (Keeton) Garrett; two great nieces-Chelsea
Stockhausen and Blair Palmer Garrett; two great nephews-Landon Denney and Reese Garrett; one dearly beloved cousin-Milton Keeton of Indianapolis, Ind., who was more like Darwin's brother, than a cousin; along with a host of friends who mourn his passing, but rejoice that he is in Heaven with family and friends and his Savior Jesus.
He was a 1967 graduate of Wayne County High School along with his future wife, Gaye Piercy. He volunteered to serve our country in the Navy shortly after graduation. He was a seeabee in the Navy and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
After returning home he worked at International Harvester (NAVISTAR) in Indianapolis, Ind. where he retired from.
He later worked at Wal-Mart in Indianapolis, Ind. and at Augusta, Ga.
He married Gaye Piercy on July 2, 1977.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior as an adult. He loved the Lord and shared his faith with many people. Especially the last year and a half of his life, while he battled cancer.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
He was a very precious brother to Dianna and David who miss talking to him, but know someday we'll be together in Heaven, where he's been rejoicing with family and friends that precede him in death. He has also met our precious Savior Jesus Christ our Lord.
A memorial service was held in Spring Hill, Fla.
Pine Crest Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
