Donald Corder

Events

Donald Corder was born on November 21, 1949 in Wayne County, Ky. He began the most important journey of his life on July 1, 2019 as he left this earth to spend eternity with Jesus and many loved ones waiting on him. He passed away peacefully in the University of Kentucky Hospital with an unknown lung condition.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Anita Sexton Corder.
Also surviving are two children-Terry and his wife Belinda Corder of Richmond and Alecia Corder of Monticello.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-Michelle Corder Stevens.
He leaves behind five grandchildren-Meghan, Nathan and Ethan Corder, Ella and Charlie Stevens.
He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Also surviving is his brother-in-law-Michael Sexton of Monticello who he thought of as a brother.
He was the brother of Jerry and wife Pattie Corder and Jeff Corder both of Monticello and Tom and wife Abby Corder of Lexington.
He enjoyed reminiscing of his childhood days growing up with this crew. They were good kids but full of mischief and pranks, apparently.
He certainly loved his brothers and was proud to be their big brother.
He had a passion for photography, varmint hunting, history and hanging out with family and friends.
He enjoyed funny stories and jokes and we will never forget his
laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents-Randel and Nevada Kidd
Corder; and a sister-Ella Anita Corder who died in her toddler years.
He often spoke about seeing her in Heaven someday, as she was older
than him and he never got to meet her.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wayne County.
Your time on earth is over. We will all be together again someday.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Sargent and Bro. Tommy Floyd
officiating.
Burial will be at a later time in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Oneida Baptist Institute or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
