Esther's Story

Esther Bernice McClellan, age 79, of Monticello, Ky., passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016.
She was born on December 10, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Frazier and Cecil Harris.
She was preceded in death by a brother—Jimmy Harris; sisters—Lucille Smith, Mazie Munsey and Ruby Turner.
She is survived by sisters—Edna Hughes and Velma Turner; and a brother—Junior Harris.
She was married December 20, 1952, to Bill McClellan.
To this union three children were born—Vickie (Gary) Gregory, Billy K. (Julie) McClellan, Stephen McClellan; eight grandchildren—Jennifer Young, Derek Gregory, Kaitlyn, Nathaniel, Michael, Cheyenne, Jaden, and Jordan McClellan; four great-grandchildren—McKenzie, Kamryn and Kaylee Young and Kenzleigh Mansfield.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Monticello Lions Club, T.O.P.S., and Busy Bee's Homemakers Club.
She spent her life as a homemaker, baking cakes, walking, going to the fitness center; she enjoyed spending time with her family, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Danny Bell, Bro. John Clark and Bro. Keith McKim officiating.
Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of
Lake Cumberland.
