Flonnie Evvallee Ferguson
Flonnie Evvalee (Kai) Ferguson passed away June 10, 2019, as she
peacefully slept. She was born April 27, 1919 to William Cicero
Ramsey and Bernetta Chloe (Birtie) Ramsey (Rector) in Stop, Ky.
She was born the middle child with seven siblings.
She spent 48 years with her Husband Karl E. Ferguson having one son, Ronald K. Ferguson.
She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother, a World War Two Veteran, an artist, a yodeler, an avid dancer, a world traveler, and if you listen real close like her grandchildren and great grandchildren did, a teller of tall tales about the magic of life.
After spending time in Okinawa, Germany, France and other foreign lands with Karl when he retired as a Colonel in Nuclear Weapons for the United States Army, they returned to Columbus, Ohio to live.
They also had a home in Stop, Ky.
She retired from the State of Ohio, and was a Member of Stop
Kentucky Church of Christ, Columbus Maennerchor, Columbus Helvetia Beneficial Society of the Swiss Club, Columbus Downtown Dance Club, Columbus Ladies of the Moose, Columbus Women of the Elks, and Columbus Gillie Center.
Karl retired from the United States Army, the State of Ohio, and the US Postal service, and became a member of the Church of Christ, Columbus Lodge Scottish Rite, Aladdin Shrine Temple, Aladdin Shrine Hospitality Unit, Aladdin Shrine Ambassador's Club, Helvetia Beneficial Society Swiss Club, Columbus Maennechor, VFW, America Legion, Elks, Moose, Monticello Country Club, Columbus Arbitrator for The Better Business Bureau.
She was preceded in death by her husband-Karl E. Ferguson; grandson-Geoffrey K. Ferguson; parents-William Cicero and Bennetta Chloe Ramsey; siblings-Ila Raines (Luther), Roy Ramsey, Della Wood(Herbert), Lydia Allison Smith (Fayette), Mabel McElroy (Dean), Lena Banta (Arnold), and Obie Ramsey (Maggie).
She is survived by her son-Ronald Ferguson (Kimberly); granddaughters-Bennetta Gay (Patrick) and Devon McClain; great-grandchildren-Jacob,
Braxton, and Evelyn Gay, Kylee McClain, and Elisha Anderson; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Flonnie and Karl will finally be together again as both will be
interred at Stop Cemetery, Stop, Ky. on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 1:30 p.m.
