Franklin's Story

Franklin D. Roosevelt Dobbs, son of the late Jeff and Sally Gibson Dobbs, age 82 went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning, February 26, 2018 at his home in Monticello, Ky. surrounded by his nieces and sister.
He was preceded in death by his brotherLeamon Dobbs; sistersOpal Gregory, Lizzie Inman, Lula Gregory, Eula Pelfrey.
One sister survivesLois Dobbs Bell of Muncie, Ind.
He was born in the Griffin Community of Wayne County on February 14, 1936.
He worked at the Monticello Utility Commission for 41 years in Monticello.
He loved to go to the Dairy Queen bright and early in the morning, as well as that, he loved to tell stories about his home community, Griffin.
He had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the Green Hill Baptist Church.
He was a staple to the family and especially to his nieces and nephews. He never knew a stranger, he had many friends and loved ones and was loved dearly and will be sadly missed.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday March 1, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Henry Stringer and Bro. Richard Morrow officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
