Georgia Hazel Denney

January 02, 1924 - October 14, 2016

Georgia Hazel Denney departed this life at the age of 92 to enter her eternal home on October 14, 2016. She was born in the Sunnybrook Community on January 2, 1924 to the late Hayden and Annie Bertram.
She had five siblings—Betty (Logan) Catron, Ray (Verdie) Bertram, and Rob Bertram.
Preceding her in death is one brother—Everett Bertram and one sister—Millie Clark.
In 1939, she married Eulon Denney.
To this union, one son, Wendal Denney was born.
Her daughter-in-law Barbara Denney also precedes her in death.
As a young girl, she attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she became a member and was faithful in her attendance.
Later in life she attended Chestnut Grove Baptist Church as long as her health allowed. Most Sundays after church, many family and friends would gather at her house for a home cooked lunch which she would prepare before she went to church.
Everyone who knew her would say she was a Godly woman who loved the Lord, a very loving wife, a devoted mother, and a true friend. She loved all people and was always putting everyone else before herself.
Many people will remember her from Denney's Clothing Store which she operated for 40 plus years. She was a hard worker.
Whether at the store, at home in the garden, helping to raise
cattle, or caring for her family, she was always busy.
When she had spare time, she loved to take pieces of fabric and create beautiful quilts.
If Georgia could tell her family and friends advice, it would be to get to know the Lord and always be willing to help others. She was an excellent role model.
She leaves behind many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Danny Leffew and Bro. Terry West officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
