July 4, 1920—March 1, 2016 Helen Christine Correll Burnette was born July 4, 1920, in Frazer, Ky., the oldest child of the late Robert and Helen Dunagan Correll. She departed this life at the age of 95 at her home in Frazer on March 1, 2016 after a prolonged illness. She accepted Christ as her Savior and joined the church at an early age. She remained a faithful member throughout her life demonstrating her faith daily through her work and interactions with others. She will be remembered for her work ethic, her dedication to doing things well, and her abiding concern for the well-being of her children and grandchildren. She began employment in 1960 as a cook for the Wayne County School system, advancing to head cook for Wayne County High School prior to her retirement in 1996. She was preceded in death by her siblings—Edwin Correll, Maude Edith Correll Cowan, and Betty Jean Correll Copenhaver. She is survived by one brother—Kirby (Faye) Correll of Killen, Ala.; her daughters—Lorene Burnette (John) Williams and Linda Burnette (Duncan) Ramsey both of Wayne County, Ky. In addition to grandchildren—Barton (Debra) Williams, Kevin Williams, and Richard (Heather) Ramsey, she is survived by great- grandchildren—Shayla (Josh) Mincey, Kindsey, Brett and Barek Williams, Ryver Ramsey, and Collin Turpin; and one great-great- grandchild—Cooper Mincey. Funeral services were held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Keith McKim and Bro. Rick Watson officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Gideon Bibles or New Salem Baptist Church.
