Dec. 30, 1958—Feb. 27, 2016 James William Stinson, known as “Tom Dooley” to his family and friends, was born December 30, 1958 to Evelyn (Pyles) and the late James Elmer Stinson. He departed this world on February 27, 2016 reaching the age of 57 years. He was born December 30, 1958 in Monticello, Ky. the son of Evelyn (Pyles) and the late James Elmer Stinson. He is survived by his daughter—Amy (Wesley) King; his only grandson— Tyler King; three sisters—Jackie (Ricky) Massengale, JoAnn Guffey and Connie (Duane) Stinson Morrow. He was a member of Keens’ Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Corb Hicks and Bro. Ernest Mann officiating. Burial was in the Dishman Cemetery. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: James “Dooley” Stinson Memorial Fund. Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
