Jay Dishman, age 63, of Monticello, Ky., passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
He was born May 14, 1953 in Monticello, Ky., the son of the late Elvis Dishman and Nellie Lee (Buck) Edwards.

He is survived by his wife—Carol Dishman; one son—Derek Dishman; one daughter—Teri (Michael) Ballou; and two grandchildren—Amelia Dishman and Brody Ballou.
He is also survived by three brothers—Kay Dishman, Bobby Joe Edwards, and Jimmy Edwards; and one sister—Linda Hancock; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by one sister—Bonnie Ruth Hancock.
He was a member of the Steubenville Baptist Church where he served many years as a deacon and Sunday school director until he was no longer able to carry on with his duties due to sickness. He loved the church and his church family.
He was an avid outdoors man. Whether it was hunting in the winter time or mowing lawns in the summer, you could catch him outside every chance he got.
