Jerry R. Bertram, age 66 ,of Monticello, Ky. passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.
He was born June 16, 1950 in Monticello, Ky. the son of the late Vernon and Lucy Hazel (Catron) Bertram.
In addition to his wife, Dena Bertram, he is survived by one sonJerry Wayne Bertram (wife Holly) of Somerset; one daughterTammie Robin Aaron (husband Anthony) of Monticello; one grandchildIsabella; and two step grandchildrenAustin and Madisyn. He is also survived by three brothersBruce Bertram of McDonough, Ga., Kay Bertram and Glenn Bertram of Monticello; and one sisterPhyllis Wise of Campbellsville; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
He worked for Selvidge Grocery, Downtown Supermarket, Houchens, and then SAL; where he worked until his retirement.
He attended New Charity Baptist Church regularly, and had recently given his heart to the Lord.
He loved to joke and make people smile and was always there for others. He loved farming, gardening, helping his neighbors and being with family.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Koger Ramsey and Bro. Danny Bell
officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or New Charity Baptist Church
