May 22, 1935—Feb. 15, 2016 Joyce Ann Baker Stricklin, age 80, was born May 22, 1935 in Pittsburg, Calif., the daughter of the late Howard and Juanita Mertes Baker. She departed this life Monday, February 15, 2016 at her home. On August 31, 1953 she united in marriage with Robert Ray Stricklin, who passed away June 9, 2006. Surviving are her children—Robert Stricklin Jr., Cheryl Gregory, Lori Slagle, Carol Butcher and Amanda Coffey. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and her sister—Dorothy Shipe. She is preceded in death by her brothers—Donald and Warren Baker. She had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and was attending the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ron Andrew officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
