Louise Thurston Brown/Carter, age 93, went to be with the Lord after a brief illness, Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
She was born July 21, 1924 in Monticello, Ky. to the late Murl J. and Flora Mae (Clark) Thurston.
She had a tremendous love for music, she was self taught on the piano. When Louise played the piano she would make that keyboard sing.
Shee only knew two speeds fast and faster, she also sang with her brother in church and loved those old gospel songs.

Powder Springs, Ga.; grandchildrenMark (Chris) Todd of Dallas, Ga., Lori Aylor of Phoenix, Ariz., Jon Martin of Kempner, Texas, Andy Martin of New Castle, several great and great-great grandchildren.
She also leaves behind a sisterMurlene (Russell) Pyles of
Monticello, Ky.; four brothersJohn (Betty) Thurston, Jimmie, Gene, and Glen Thurston; and a sister-in-lawBea Thurston all of New Castle, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbandsHoward Brown and Clarance Carter; a beautiful daughterPenny Thurston Skibba; brothersKenneth and Darrell Thurston; sisterAlene Thurston; nephewJack Thurston; nieceTara Enoch Terrell; three sisters-in-lawBrenda, Beverly, and Barbara Thurston.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the funeral home chapel in New Castle with Rev. Jim Becker officiating.
Burial followed in the South Mound Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Foursquare Gospel Church or the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
