July 23, 1923—Feb. 14, 2016 Louise Kendrick Parmelee was born in Wayne County, July 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Claude and Gertrude Koger Parmelee. She departed this life Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her home, reaching an age of 92 years. On July 8, 1944 she united in marriage with Fred Parmelee, who passed away September 7, 1983. Surviving are her children—Robert, Billy and Debbie Parmelee and the children she mothered—Jamie Morrow, Karen Bisczat and Donna Sexton. Also surviving are her grandchildren—Jeff, Natalie and Jonathan Parmelee, Kristen Buxton, Micah Ferrell, Brandon Bisczat, Matthew and Eli Sexton and Hannah Brock; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of the Claude and Gertrude Kendrick family. She is preceded in death by her siblings—Effie Samuels, Grace Ann Morrow, Clyde Ray, Fred, Perk, Cecil and Claude Kendrick, Jr. She is also preceded in death by her grandson—Ryan. She worked until her retirement in the ladies fashion industry and was a member of the Monticello First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
