Feb. 28, 1943—Feb. 9, 2016 Luda Mae Lowe, age 72, of Monticello, Ky., passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born February 28, 1943 in Monticello, Ky., the daughter of the late Thomas and Willie “Grace” (Hicks) Brown. She is survived by her husband—Cecil Lowe; four sons—Billy (Flonnie) Lowe, Tommy (Regina, deceased) Lowe, Paul (Lisa) Lowe, Steve (Kim) Lowe; three daughters—Betty (Sterlie) Dishman, Wanda (Jerry) Smith and Tammy (Rodney) McGinnis; 15 grandchildren—Curtis, Alisha, Lola, Cody, Bradley, Brandon, Katie, Rodney, Hillary, Amber, Elijah, Dustin, Jessica, Kimberly and Tyler; and 11 great-grandchildren— Hannah, Bailey, Emma, Hailee, Jasmine, Gabriel, Olivia, Isabella, Jarius, Eli and Hunter. She is also survived by five brothers—Gerald, Jerry, Roy, Hallice and Ricky Brown; and three sisters—Ruby Cooper, Beulah Stinson and Beatrice Allene Jenkins; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by one son—Jeremy Lee Lowe; one brother— Fleeman Brown; and one sister—Margie Neal. Funeral services were held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Rodney McGinnis officiating. Burial was in the Pyles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may take the form of donations to The American Cancer Society. Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
