Ruby Marie Standifer, age 69, of Monticello, formerly of the Blue John Community, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
She was born on August 3, 1947, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Swain Baker.
She was a retired dietitian and residential aide for Oakwood, of Somerset.
She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
She loved spending time with her family and baking cakes and cookies with her grandchildren.
She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Monticello and loved her church family.
She is survived by her daughters—Rebecca (Tim Goodlett) Keith of Elizabethtown, and Adrona Mattice of Monticello; her brothers—Danny Joe (Theresa) Baker of Louisiana, Norman (Patty) Baker of Virginia, and Glen (Andrea) Baker of Monticello; her sisters, Joyce (Lawrence) Blevins of Tenn., Madeline (Ronnie) Baker of Burnside, and Emma(David) Ball of Nancy; seven grandchildren—Keesha, D'Nea, Derrick, Adriona, Tiffany, Audrey and Davyd; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is her first husband—George Keith; second husband—Carl Standifer; brother—Samuel Baker; and sister—Wilma Matthews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Bro. John Carter officiating. Burial was in the Sloans Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers were—Derrick Clarke, David Phillips, Jerry Perkins, David Schrom, Marshall Stephens, Scott Stephens and Jeffery Button.
