James "Jim" A. Hurtt, age 73, of Monticello, Ky., passed from this life on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Wayne County Hospital.
He was born on October 9, 1943 in Royal Oaks, Mich., son of the late Reuben and Mary Wise Hurtt.
He was a Production Supervisor with Tecumseh Products prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and the splendor of being outdoors.
He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Mt. Vernon Street Church of Christ. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by a grandsonJared Hurtt; and his siblingsBill Hurtt, Robert Hurtt and Christiana Baugher.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife of 49 yearsShirley Miller Hurtt, whom he married on November 24, 1967 in Kirkpatrick, Ohio; sonsMichael Hurtt of Tateville and Bobby (Spring) Hurtt of Bronston; and daughterTeri (Mark) Lee of Monticello; brotherRichard (Barbara) of Ariz.; grandchildrenChristopher Lester, Ashlee Lee, Zabery (Lauren) Hurtt, Cassandra Lester-Atkinson (Savannah), Wyatt Hurtt, Savanah Hurtt and Payton Berth; and great-grandchildrenCaitlynn, Parker, Magnum, Riley, Camden, Elizabeth and Sienna as well a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Grant Hardwick officiating. Burial was in the Serenity Garden of Southern Oaks Cemetery.
